Carers can now Request Flexible Working

The right to request flexible working has been extended to include Carers. The existing legal right to request flexible working was introduced in April 2003 for parents of children under six (or eighteen for a disabled child).

We will shortly be producing a new factsheet to explain the new right. Our current factsheet 'Right to Request Flexible Working' will be renamed 'Flexible Working for Parents'. The new factsheets will be 'Flexible Working for Carers'.
